Seaplanes, the only aircraft where landing gear up is the better option.

9 people on board, no fatalities.  According to Wikipedia, the company only owns one aircraft.  That being the case, this may have ended the company, which was only one year old.

I bet during the last sixty years of logged flying I have either witnessed or seen this happen ten or twelve times.

All to non-commercial or military flights.  Many of the aviators had a good number of logged hours as well.
Many of them owned their own aircraft...expensive hobby...
It usually happens because of inadequate training and not following an Aircraft Landing Check List.

Have also seen aircraft loaded by the pilot/owner who never secured their load...to much of a hurry.
The load shifted in the C185 towards the rear bringing the aircraft down. 

Patience, training and experience is a virtue for every aviator regardless of type of aircraft and hours logged.

Now on the lighter side of things, as summer draws near and many of you will be out simulating flight on floats, amphibians and seaplanes it would be a good idea to get checked out by:
Larry...a free aircraft paint job with every lesson
Greg...come south and be wined and dined with each   
          lesson
Chuck...free use of your own private island for a weekend
            with each lesson
They seem to do the most float and amphibian flying, me I am too old... ...besides I would rather cook and tell tall tales...

I have no idea what the French version of 'Bubba' is, but I know it sounded something like:

Bubba: "Maylene, git da camra, dis is gonna be good.

Will try a language program the old girl uses all the time.
It is on her computer.
Not sure why it sounds so odd on my computer because these are good speakers.
