On Thursday last week A VC-10 from the 101 squad out of Brize Norton showed up at YVR because calgary was too cold to fix the fuel leak... i am not sure how that works but i will just be happy it showed up on monday the parts showed and on tuesday they where supposed to do a engine run-up in the afternoon. they did not get the run-up done tuesday... they where to do it wednesday morning and if it went well they would come back from the staging area, fuel up and then leave. another problem completely unrelated to the engine appeared... the pilot was getting cranky now, all in all they just left thursday... and it was LOUD!!!

images will come soon... note that the camera i used was crap... but i got a new one the same night after it left cause i got a large tax return... what camera did i buy? A Canon EOS 7D body and i am using the lens off of my moms old 30MM Canon Rebel which is a EF 35-80, but that is just until i can afford a new lens
Carriers would be so mush easier to land on if they would just stop turning!!!

Loud, it is one of the last aircraft flying that sound like an aircraft should. It used be a regular visitor to EDLP, not due to noise........... :'(

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

Get those pictures up!  Who cares about the quality, this isn't Anet.  We care about air planes here!   8-)

Look forward to seeing the photos.....but surely a new lens would have been a better investment before the camera? ;)

My previous photo taking device was a camcorder... having a lens and no camera to go with it is pretty useless. my moms old camera is a 30mm that is getting really grainy so this was the better option

showed up at YVR because calgary was too cold to fix the fuel leak... i am not sure how that works

Partly technical, and partly so the groundcrew don't freeze as they repair it - there are regulations restricting work is particularly cold temperatures.
