Took a run into the mountains to see if there was anything to capture and bring home for everyone to see......not too much at all...........
Nothing special here........Marblerock Canyon, seen from across Buttle Lake on Vancouver Island

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

The longer shutter speed for me, was the result of using the polarizer.....it's value is about 1-2 stops of reduced light.....dependent of course, on the angle of the light source, reflected back to the camera.......

I too, had to move to B/W to learn my hobby, as a cost effective means of keeping at it.....and although when I did shoot slides, Kodachrome 64 was my fav due to the extra speed gain over 25.  FP4 and Plus-X Pan, along with a daylight bulk loader and Microdol-X 1:3 taught me lots that I still fall back on today. At times, I miss the smell of the chemicals while sitting in P'shop CS5 in front of my comp !
