Christoph 20

Postby Meck » Sun Sep 26, 2010 2:25 am

Hey,

it's been a long time since I've been busy here. Well here I am - back with some pics of the rescue-chopper Christoph 20 based at Bayreuth. It's a regular traffic flying over my house, though yesterday it came 'close': landed about 50m from my home due to some incident (I wasn't intereseted in that! There was a chopper in my yard!) So I grabed my Girl's 550D with the Tamron and yeah: here we go!

Nice capture 8-)
A quick question though, "Christoph 20", is that anything to do with "Christoph 13" and if so, how does ADAC come into the picture. I though the "Christoph" fleet where run by a stiftung and orange?

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

Actually all german rescue helis are called 'Christoph' and have different numbers according to their location. ADAC covers almost the whole german area (see here) and is supported by the DRF, the 'Bundeswehr' operatedSAR and some others like the 'BMI Luftrettung' or the 'HDM Luftrettung'.

Here is a survey of all german locations and companies.

So yes the both Christophs have something in common!  ;)
