1st of May 47N fly-out

No glider club activity, but I was at the field anyway. the sister of a "friend of" was having a birthday party at a hangar over at Princeton, so some of us flew over there.
Bummed a ride in the back of Mike's Tiger... we passed this nice Cessna 340 on the way to the runway.

A camcorder still of the approach to Princeton.

Nice of them to let us crash the party... there was plenty of good food and conversation, and a beautiful day for it.

Gus showed up with his new baby, so I bummed a ride back with him.

Arrived at 47N just in time for a purty sunset.

Nice shots Sean and it looks like everyone had a good time.

Something I noticed which I brought up at one of the bugsmasher flying club meetings and I see you folks seem to have the same problem is dandelions (Any of several herbs of the genus Taraxacum having long tap roots and deeply notched leaves and bright yellow flowers followed by fluffy seed balls).

Dandelions make very good wine and I believe part of the plant can be cooked to eat.  I do like the wine but I don't believe I have ever tasted them cooked.

I don't have them here on our strip as we sprayed five years ago and the strip is due for spraying next year.  My son can worry about that.... :)

The little fluffy seed balls get into places they shouldn't on aircraft and equipment.

Again nice pictures and have you got something in the works along the lines of a rag and tube for yourself in the near future?

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug
P.S. we are heading down east in the very near future for a family affair and I was told by family there are some taildraggers for sale...want me to have a look...I guess the owners are purchasing something larger and faster

I guess the seeds can be a problem, but other than that I'm fond of dandelions.  :)

No airplane-purchase plans in the near future, unfortunately... not making enough right now to do that.
:-/
Maybe a partnership next year, we'll see.

But I could just barely afford to operate one right now, if I happen to get lucky...  ;D

Got 6 tickets for this one, and the drawing is at the end of this month. Pour some skull-pop into the wind for the aviation gods, and wish me luck!  ;D

Green with envy here Sean.  Wish I could hear of a party and just hop in a plane and go haha.   [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.
