vintage german tripod question

Postby themoon7x » Sat Aug 08, 2009 12:18 pm

my roommate picked up a bilora biloret model 2037 tripod this morning at a yardsale for a few bucks. it looks like it might be roughly 40 years old....does anyone know what these things are worth? the brass legs are in great condition minus a tiny bit of tarnishing (will remove that soon) and some scratches on the upper hub. the spring indent system on the legs is in great shape, and the leather on the top portion of the legs looks great too. i'm very impressed with the tolerances in the construction. unfortunately its a bit too short to use effectively, i don't think its even 5 feet tall fully extended. i've got a much better tripod, but this one has so much more character hehe, just wondering if its worth holding on to for awhile.
i took some 90-degree rotated pictures...can i post them even if they're rotated like that? they're within the 1024x768 size limit, just swapped to 768x1024 (and they're within the file size limit too).

Can't tell you what it's worth, but yes, you can post those vertically-oriented shots here... thanks for asking. ;)

No clue what it's worth man, but it has to be worth more than my $40 wal-mart tripod  ;D
