I don't know what kind of bird this is, but when it flew off after I took this, it made more noise than any bird I have ever heard in my life. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2555/379 ... ef09bf.jpg

Please don't link images, it slows down the forums for everyone, especially those on dial up.  We ask that everyone upload their pics to the SimV website.  Thank you.

I uploaded it for you this time.

Not a bad shot but it could do with being a bit bigger. No idea what the bird is. It might help to know which part of the planet you come from.

Looks a bit  like a "Kingfisher" to me?

(Difficult to tell its size...colour damped by the water?)

We get many of them on the banks of our River Wye in Herefordshire.

Paul.....The Fisher King... 8-)...!

Looks more like a small heron to me. There are several types of Night Heron. http://www.naturephoto-cz.com/night-heron:nycticorax-nycticorax-photo-524.html

i had decided against uploading the picture myself b/c of the file size limit, would have had to reduce the quality too much. i appreciate your generosity in doing that for me though. that pic was taken in the middle of the state of north carolina....i agree it looks like a night heron...
