So A B-24 Flew Over My House Yesterday....

Postby BigTruck » Sun May 24, 2009 5:18 am

Was getting ready to grill and I hear that distinct sound...this was no Baron on final into Bel-Air Intl  ;D  After seeing her fly over, followed by a B-17, I knew something was up, so today I drove onto Moffett and drove by the air field to see what was up, sure enough, the birds were on display  8-)

Love the bomb graffiti  ;D

Is that a story or something on the last pic?

It's names, I believe it's the names of everyone who put something into the restoration of the bird, not positive though.

I saw this one last year also. It's a great plane. They didn't bring the B-25 with them?

8-)

No, they only brought a P-51, B17, B24, a couple of Bi Planes, a Mentor, and a couple Navy birds that I haven't figured out yet, I'll post the other birds later today.

The first time I saw the B-24 she was painted as " The Dragon and His Tail" which flew in the Pacific Theatre. These shots were taken August 1999 at South Jersey Regional Airport (KVAY).

I was reading about that on their webpage earlier today.  I'm pretty sure I saw some shots of it painted like that here at SimV...

When I saw the B-24 a few years ago, it had that dragon nose art on it also. I wonder what made them re-paint it...? ;D
