The glare from the landing lights...much like the marks on the easyJet 737 (on the nose etc...)...Lots of layers of glass don't mix too well with dark objects illuminated by a very bright lightsource ;)

1/13 seems to be very nice. I if it were up to me I would go with 1/13. Great shots. ;)

::)  Obviously not familiar with photography  ;D  All I can say is WOW, well done Mic, are you using a remote shutter on a tripod?  What gives...no way did you take them shooting freehand.. :o
