Avalon Airshow 2009 - Super Connie & Qantas 747

Postby Layne. » Tue Mar 17, 2009 4:55 am

The Super Connie did not fly (Due to severe crosswinds) but it did do a little catwalk along the runway

Note the grass flying up from the Qantas takeoff due to jetwash it hit us pretty hard, some people got wind burn.

Love my Connie. I got to see her do 4 full throttle runs down the runway on the Friday night and the flames from the exhaust were incredible. :o

Do you have the 500 ft. rule in Australia or is that 747 take off shot just an optical illusion?

Don't know that 500ft rule but it isn't an optical illusion, the camera is quite zoomed in on the 2nd 747 photo, it is beautiful watching the 747 takeoff because it was drifting and slowly lagging into the sky
