Hi Sean

Well like all aircraft produced during the war years many mods were done for improvement.

I think only two of our Canso Aircraft from the front end crew perspective were the same/similar.  Like the DC3s/4s we had, many cockpits were different.  Not only the cockpits on the DC3s but the galley could also be in the front or rear of the aircraft.

What I seem to be missing in the above shots in the lack of metal toggle switches on the control yoke column, there seems to be some missing.

The aircraft does look in good shape and when I flew these aircraft they were not as old as they are now, I do believe most are older than most of our membership here.   ;D

What was wonderful for me was the trips were three, four days long or maybe longer, well for a single fella, it was a lot of fun, but after the old girl and I got married it made for some long, lonely nights as I am sure many a military fella on here can tell you now.

Back then everyone from Captain, Co-Pilot, Crewman got a base pay and then a flying pay on top of that.  Well if you didn't fly you didn't make much money, simple as that, the flying days in the DC3 and Canso were long and tedious until something went wrong and then you earned your pay.   ;D
