The South Hams

I seem to be posting much more general photography recently as apposed to aviation photography and here is some more from a recent trip to Devon and as the title suggests an area called the South Hams
Messing around with PSP to create this effect on a lighthouse at Plymouth Hoe.

Good job on the lighthouse. Shame you cut the weathervane off. Being ultra-critical it could do with straightening up a bit. I like the idea of #2.

Yeah we(sixth form geography trip!) got told about the involvment of TorCross in the D - Day landing

Yeah, twas a shame about the lighthouse and weathervane, but it was mighty cold and windy and i wasn't really concentrating until i got them on the PC 8-)

Great shots FSnovice, always nice to see pics from my neck of the woods. I live close to Slapton & visit there quite often.

If any of you guys want to know more about Exercise Tiger & the tragedy that unfolded, then you can't go wrong with a book called 'The Forgotten Dead' by Ken Small. Contrary to popular belief, most of the attack happened in Lyme Bay, with a lot of casualties going to Weymouth in Dorset. Slapton Sands was only the destination for the troops that were attacked.

Love the lighthouse. I have sat on that bench next to it and eaten fish and chips or a pasty (Ivor Dewdney of course) on many an occasion.

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.
