Had a terrific day today

Postby BigTruck » Fri Jan 02, 2009 1:06 am

Spent the day with my wife, and it was terrific.  We went up into San Francisco and got some (very) fresh seafood for lunch at the Fisherman's Wharf.  I had Dungeness Crab, which is in season right now and selling like hotcakes at the wharf, and it was AWESOME!!!  Not as sweet as snow crab, but it was fresh off the boat and you can't beat a fresh crab steamed to perfection.

Anyways, after lunch we walked around the shops and I managed to stop and snap some pictures after the sun went down (we shopped all afternoon)  Go easy on me, no flash used, and no tripod, so I was struggling to get some clear shots haha.

I'm not sure what building this is, I think it's the Harbor Master, but it is very photogenic

The tree, with a nice skyline in the background, I liked it

The wharf nightlife.  I love this place, like i said, it's going to be a weekend thing now for me and the wife, so many different foods to try

I thought this had a nice glow to it.  That's a WWII Navy freighter in the background

Chinatown scares me, but right next to chinatown is the sort of redlight district...xxx shops and theaters, and exotic dance clubs everywhere...it's like a Thailand here in San Francisco...

I was last in SF aged 9 so that sort of thing didn't really interest me all that much! However Chinatwon was riddled with great shops and cool things to buy 8-)

and there still is all kinds of crazy markets and shops, but that whole drug war that happened there still kinda makes me awry about wandering around the area without a firearm and body armor...

You should've seen me and my mom when she took me there after finishing up this thing with E-bay (she knows the head honcho & was invited to go to this conference thing in San Jose).

That and the trolly made San Francisco's image for me.

The only thing that bothers me is some of the horizons in your shots aren't straight (the second and last one seem to dip off to the right ;)). But the are very nice pictures. :)

Yeah my pictures always tend to lean to the right unless I use my tripod, I guess my left arm is shorter than my right
