The Snowbirds flew despite the recent crash which you can read about in the real aviation forums.

:o
Here's who came..
http://www.military.com/Content/MoreCon ... ps,00.html

I waited in line at the Pickney and wanted to go to the Coast Gaurd after but I found myself after 3 hours to finally get on this ship rushing to find seats for the blue angels. I missed the whole show thankfully we got to see all of it in line but it was a few piers down..

So if you saw the Fleet you missed the show..
So badly put together to wait in line like we did :o

Thankfully 5 minutes before the Blue Angels we found a resterant on the pier outside above all the show ;)

Looks quite strong on saturation and polarizing.....?

That's not to take away from your shots, but I see the Snowbirds, probably more than anyone on here (this forum), and by now they're almost bland to me.......although I'll still pull over on the bike or in the car when I hear them overhead......... ;)

Yeah I'm not too sure if it was just the camera focusing on the brighter colors of the planes which caused the sky to get saturated?  It only happened in the shots where they were really high up and I had to zoom way in...

Flyboy, not too sure what happened with the fleet haha.  The "Parade of Ships" was one frigate headed into the bay, and I had already spent a month aboard the Bonhamme Richard (LHD-6) so I didn't need to hike all the way down there get pictures of that beast haha.

Did they actually do the take off show over at KSFO?  I figured since they were away from the crowds they just taxi'd and left?

I saw their entire show from take off to landing when I was stationed  in Kaneohe Bay, sat right on the flight line, it was exhilerating!!  Some of the best parts of the show happen on the ground!

I saw the Blue Angels take off from the UA maintenance hangars because UA hosts the Blue Angels.

here is a picture of where everything was

I was over by the blue angels all day. after they returned from the show i drove down the access road (which is open to the public) and saw the snowbirds parked over at the executive part of the airport.

The blue angels take off performance is something else to see. so orderly and professional, its really cool!

here are the decent pictures that i took

Wow look at that, I am actually jealous haha, you got to get in on all the action up close and personal.  My office is right across the highway from KSFO too, so we got to see them take off for a few practice runs last week but never in formation, that's pretty cool that they still did the ground side ritual even away from the actual show.

yeah when i was younger and NAS was still open they used to take off from there. my parents and I went there once but it was too crowded so we decided to stick with our "get to the marina green at 6am to get a good spot" plan.

now when we do get the chance to go, we still go really early but we park over at the St. Francis yacht club and go out on the pier that is actually in front of the marina green, the area that the blue angels and other performers cater the most to.

Lol that's exactly where I was, I parked at Crissy field and headed out to the stone pier in front of Marina Green and it sure beat those $150 seats they were offering at Marina Green.
