Blue Angels hit by economy too!

Postby BigTruck » Thu Oct 09, 2008 8:05 pm

The Blue Angels have taking a big hit from the economy as well, saw them practicing today for fleet week, apparently they had to trade in 5 of their jets for a few Extra's and a Pitts, with Boss (#1 Jet) flying the Seneca.  (Thanks Ruptured Duck)

Before I left work today (across the 101 from KSFO) I heard a very familiar sound...FAST MOVERS!!!   I stepped outside as #5 and #6 flew over my office.  I immediatley let the boss know I had to leave ad changed into civilian clothes.

Hopped in the truck and headed for the Golden Gate.  Bout a 15 minute drive.  As I crossed the GG I heard that sound again...mixed with propellers???  So I get to the other side (free parking side) and hop out I see the crazy looking formation and just laughed.  They were up there doing an orientation flight and getting some air to air pics (Seneca was the lead plane, taking them around the Bay area and drifiting in and out of the formations)
