Dawlish Airshow Preview

Postby mrjake2002 » Thu Aug 14, 2008 5:27 pm

Well, I'm off on holiday on Friday so I thought I'd get a couple of photos up from Dawlish... much more to come though.

Stunning. :o That's some location for an air show.

PS. Why were there only 8 Reds?

I was over on the left hand side as you go in the entrance... feeling jealous at all those white lenses!

P.S... that Spitfire looks so good in silver.  :D

Don't be....these are excellent....:)

Though I was talking to one guy who had 2 1Ds Mk2s, with a 300mm f2.8 with 1.4x teleconverter on one, and a 100-400 on the other....talk about overkill...... ;D :P

PS. Why were there only 8 Reds?

Was a late decision i think, as shortly before the display we saw a solitary hawk in the distance going round in circles turning smoke on and off......so something probably went wrong with the aircraft...

I know the feeling... I'd like to own a 100-400 L, 70-200 L f2.8 IS, 24-70 f2.8 L and 17-40 f4.0 L ( last 2 are black), possibly combined with a 40D or 5D, but my wallet shivers even when I think about the budget...
