Question?

Postby Matt275 » Wed Aug 13, 2008 9:48 am

I have just got back from manchester airport and while i was there i saw two of Easyjets ex GB Airways A320's and was wondering why the paint on the tails is peeling off if they have only just been painted?

sorry for the bad pictures , they were taken through a car window

Just needs a fresh paintjob. Most airlines are scrimping nowadays. Take a look at this poor US bird.

May have suffered at the unusually inclement summer weather.

Cheap paint job. The company I work for tried it and also learnt the hard way. Basically, a quick sanding on the old paint and then the new paint was applied. You need to talk the old paint back to the primer to get the new to adhere properly. They probably did not have the ground time with the summer flight program looming.

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.
