Oshkosh '08: part 11

This '51 C-305A was originally sold to the south Korean government, then went on to serve with Japan's military. Unique, and a very spiffy Bird Dog!

A consolidated Husky, something I don't think I'd seen before.

Another (super-shiny) Ercoupe. The one I'm going to win looks a lot like this one. ;)

Dang it, I forget what this is... gotaa be DeHavilland (?), but...  :-?

You've already seen shots of the fabulous Boeing 40 (which took off for home behind my back, sadly, so I never saw it under power except at a distance), but this excellent Zenith, a very similar aircraft, was right next to it all week, virtually ignored.  :(

I think it's wonderful. My first trip to the Antique area, at about 0630, I ran into Lorraine (who let me fly "Charlie", her C-140 on skis, last winter) also taking pictures... I mentioned the B-40, and she said "Yeah; but how about that Zenith, huh?" Birds of a feather, indeed... :D

Some nice old classics there. I always thought the Ercoupe was a strange little aeroplane.

Dang it, I forget what this is... gotaa be DeHavilland (?), but...

It's a Canadian-built DH.82C Tiger Moth with an enclosed canopy. http://torontoaerospacemuseum.com/tigermoth/aircraft.htm

:D

I should have realized that... if it were sitting by itself, after a minute or two I'd have realized it was a Moth. but I was distracted, I guess. ;D

The Canadian canopy's a bit of a thrower too. ;)

Lovely shots again Sean......I must admit, I really don't like the canopy they've put on that tiger moth....makes it look really nasty IMO....spose it's a bit nicer on longer flights though  :P
