Had a trip to RAF Coningsby yesterday had a look at the Typhoons, Also the BBMF is stationed there...

Its was important for me to remember that 60 years ago young men of my age where flying over Nazi Germany in pitch black, freezing cold in bombers like these, I think after visiting one of them and getting inside I think I can understand a bit better what it must if been like

Lucky chap. I get quite jealous as a couple of my former instructors fly her "on the side".

Certainly the pinnacle for any multi-engine pilot in the RAF, and a fitting tribute to all the personnel of all the air forces serving within Bomber Command sixty something years ago.
