A wing, a prayer... and Faith

Some more from saturday's party, which glider club member and oldtime 47N bum Mike threw to celebrate 35 years since his first lesson there when it was called Kupper Airport.

I had worked all night and had to leave early for another night shift, but I had a good time... lots of good food and fun company. The 2-33 had unfortunately suffered a landing mishap last week, so it wasn't flying, but one of the club members went up in the 1-26 and was still up there when I left 3 1/2 hrs. later!  :o

Here's Mike  taking some more guests on a "couch ride" around the airport... there's James and his dad in the center. The club's Citabria towplane is seen behind.

The couch ride sounds like fun, and it was... got to see parts of the airport I'd never checked out before, like the banner drop and R.C. field. That's my friend and former loft-mate Faith... we hadn't hung out in a while and I was hoping to get her up in the Breezy.

Took a little prodding, but she went... here she goes with Drew on her first ride in a light single. Looking very brave here (arms outstretched as per Drew's recommendation), but she told me later she was praying when they took off. :D

After about 15 minutes aloft, including some time spent flying the Breezy, she had been transformed into another airplane nut. Excellent... another convert... mwuhahahaha...  ;D

James got a ride, too... he's already "one of us" but it was his first Breezy ride.

A later flight went off for a closer look at a passing blimp...

A Breezy is probably a good platform for shooting, but I wouldn't fly with a passenger behind me toting a bird gun!  :o

Hell, I had a rough enough time aiming my camera by the time we turned base to final. They don't call it a Breezy for nothin'! :)

Sean, looks like a fun day, I would like to take the couch ride, I bet that would catch on at Airventure, You could probably make alot of money there. Lets see, A Quad, a trailer, two couches = A ton of money.  What do you think?
