When I got there, the boys were at it already... John was flying with Herb, prepping for his CFI-glider test. Here they go... just about to get airborne.
"Balance it on the wheel... rudder... get that wing up..." No, really, it's fun.

The sky did not look promising, and there was a gusty south wind.
The banner boys were doing their thing... looks like this one will need a little repair.

I was the only ground crew available, so I was busy... but i had the camera ready for Mike dropping the tow rope. My strategy was simple: wait 'til I hear the hook click open. It worked!

I was already rolling the quad over to meet the glider as they landed, so I didn't get a pic of that. But look who I saw earlier- good ol' "Casper"!
A few pilots bought it in the wake of the school's demise. Good to see it flying.A lot of traffic, despite the tricky crosswind... like this local Bird Dog.
While waiting for a Skylane to clear the pump so I could top off the quad's tank, I finally took a closer look at 47N's lone C-140... a very nice one, although I'm not wild about... brown.
A lot of twins come here for the cheapish fuel, like this Baron.
No in-flight pics again; sorry. Really worked my butt off on today's (2) flights- and managed to stay up over an hour on the second, even though we very nearly called it a day after my first because of the wind. I doubt I could have landed properly myself with such wind (as it was we got the rug yanked out from under us at the last moment despite H's expertise), but I did do a pretty good job hunting for and working a few strong but narrow thermals...
