should of gave me a ring man. Im just at hou! hows it been going man? thought you got on with xj
I would have, but I had to make my connection. They flew me out of waco on a saab, and then I had to catch a 737 in IAH. Very little down time between flights.
Things are going good. Although at the rate this industry is going right now, I'm going to be at TSTC for a while. Ed has me gearing up for the assistant chief instructor position.
I did get hired by ExpressJet last fall, but they never scheduled any classes. As a matter of fact, there's some rumors and speculation going around that they may furlough several hundred pilots in the fall.
In March I interviewed with Republic Airways and got hired. They scheduled me for a class in may on the EMB-145, but that got cancelled when Frontier filed for bankruptcy, they mutually agreed to end their contract with Frontier, and they had to shut down their Denver base and relocate 15 airplanes and 150 pilots. There's a chance though that they may be starting up classes again soon... maybe.
This particular interview was for ColganAir. Didn't get a job offer b/c I goofed up an approach in the Beech 1900 full motion sim. I couldn't find the power setting for the speed he wanted and ended up to high on the glideslope. It was probably for the best though. Mr. Colgan wasn't to certain of what is going to happen this fall with so many airlines furloughing pilots. He basically told me that if I got hired that day, I stood a good chance of getting furloughed in the fall. I didn't have any warm fuzzy feelings going into that interview.
Last week I interviewed with SkyWest Airlines in Salt Lake City, UT. Recently got a letter from them congratulating me on a successful interview. They don't have any classes scheduled for me yet so it sounds like I'll end up in another pool.
Anyway, that's the rundown on my whole situation right now.
How's things in houston going for you? Still pumping gas at HOU?
