Pinhole Camera (final thread)

Postby RitterKreuz » Sat Jun 14, 2008 5:24 pm

Well for those interested in the pinhole camera update here it is:

For the past week i have made made numerous phone calls, visited numerous web pages and online stores with little luck and i have made numerous trips to photo supply shops putting nearly 250 miles on my car in the process.

basically what i have been told by the 'experts' is that because so many people have switched to digital cameras, and because there is so little interest in 'at home darkroom photography' anymore that unless you are purchasing from a college as a student the films and chemicals required for a pinhole camera are next to impossible to come by.

For these reasons i have decided to return my pinhole camera to the display case from which it came, and i am going to place my focus on other - less fun -  ::)- modernized -  forms of black and white photography.

Thats too bad about the availability of supplies. I know that if you want to order from afar, you could try Adorama Camera and see what they have which might meet your needs. I checked out their site to see if they still carry some of the basics from last century when I learned the art of B/W.

Seems like it's going the way of the Dodo......... :'(

Good call Sean.....BTW, do you still have some silver halides sitting in the back room, doing nothing ?  I just inadvertantly threw mine out  :-[

All hope is not yet lost...

... i have 3 boxes of Kodak PolyContrast IV RC Black and white film en route which are supposedly much easier and forgiving to work with.

I have a trip which starts monday, so thursday afternoon will be the earliest i will be able to do anything with it.

keep your fingers and toes crossed :D
