MAAM WWII'08: part 6-CAP aircraft

There was a gaggle of the usual olive-drab liason ships this time, but I decided to skip those and show you something unusual, which represents an even more-unsung group of humble light singles that have done civil service in peace and wartime for the  Civil Air Patrol.

Not sure if any of these actually served (or still do; who knows)... but if it flies, the CAP has used it at one time or another.



First a coupla Fairchild 24s: one with the Warner(?) radial...





     And the more familiar Ranger-powered version.





     A very capable bush plane, despite its elegant looks... these also were used directly by the military in N. America and Europe.
