Popham DH fly-in Pt 1

Postby Hagar » Mon May 12, 2008 5:20 am

After the disappointment of last weekend we had a beautiful day for the DH fly-in yesterday. These are themed events but not restricted to a particular type. Here's a selection of a few of them. I'll try to give an impression of what it's like at this delightful little airfield. Some of these were taken early in the day & shot almost directly into the sun.

Slipping in over the trees. This chap's a regular visitor in his immaculate Tiger Moth. Young son in the front cockpit.

A couple of beautiful Pitts Specials. The first one's a resident.

Another regular with a nice low fly-by for the photographers.

Lovely Cessna taildragger.

There were two of these odd little beasts on the airfield. Great fun. ;)

That first Tiger Moth shot is great! The angle and lighting make the essence of classic flight in this one superb!  :)

Excellent. A much-needed tonic on a pretty ugly Monday... ;D

A Staaken!? Didn't know they ever made 'em that small. Very nice.
