Stampe Fly-in - Antwerp - Part I - SV's

Postby Omag 2.0 » Sun May 04, 2008 4:39 am

The main attraction of this fly-in, the Belgian Stampe & Vertongen SV4 Biplane. Used as a trainer for many years in Belgium, France and Algeria. Many planes were build under license in France.

The Stampe & Vertongen museum owns 9 planes, but I counted over 20 yesterday. To bad they were all parked close together or were flying from a grass-strip on the other side of the airfield.

A lovely assortment gleaming in the sunshine. I'm jealous.

The Stampe & Vertongen museum owns 9 planes, but I counted over 20 yesterday.

We seem to have more Stampes than Moths in this part of the country. There are three based at Shoreham. I saw two on Saturday. Thought one might be heading your way but apparently not.
