Quick trip to "Mizz Hippy"- pt 2 of 2

Had a window seat on the second return leg; here's some snaps from Charlotte.

There's a great spot off the main concourse where you can get an interesting angle of a parked plane- and lucky me, there was a fine US Airways liner in classic Piedmont livery just waiting to be photographed when I passed by the window.  8-)

My ride home: I think the FO was warming up his lunch in the sun. ;D

Two extreme-zoom shots that are classic examples of why my messed-up viewfinder is so much fun: I often miss the most interesting parts until I open the file on my computer.

First, what I thought was just a mildly interesting 727... but wait a sec... ouch! what happened here?

Image

And here I was just trying to get a composition of a plane on final over the museum hangar roof... didn't notice that magnificent DC-3 peeking over the knoll. :D

The 727 is one of 3 owned by Rousch Racing. Kinda looks like this is used for spare parts.

But look at the left wing... isn't it damaged?

That A319 looks so much better in that livery! If only all airliners look like that!

Last picture's cool, old meets the new (717 and DC3). Great shots.
