A few from Old Warden

Postby Hagar » Thu Apr 17, 2008 4:04 am

I've spent a very pleasant couple of days up at Old Warden for training week. The weather turned out much better than forecast. Unfortunately the airfield is too soggy for the heavier birds. These were taken on Tuesday.

Quite a few German types at Old Warden now. This is Peter Holloway's Klemm 35D.

& legendary Tiger Moth.

Practicing for the barnstorming events. The pilots are really on form.

Speaking of rare types, an interesting regular visitor. The only Dart Kitten II ever built.

A few more rare birds to follow from Wednesday.

Certainly is. Shame the weather wasn't as good yesterday (a bit murky). :) How did Wednesday's come out?

Nice shots. The Klemm has just been signed off and registered by a friend of mine here in Germany.  Peter Holloway bought in America. As it was registered as experimental in the USA, the CAA (Campaign Against Aviation) made it just about impossible to register in the UK, so it was registered in Germany and will be transfered to UK ownership in a couple of years.

Peter Holloway bought in America.

Glenn Lacey's RLM Aviation bought in it from the US. Peter Holloway bought their entire collection (minus one or tow items) when they went bust.

Perfection! Lots of eastern looking birds, but as long as they play tourists it's all fine...  ;)

2 and a half more weeks before the Antwerp Stampe Fly-inn, visited by many beauties of this type... I can't wait...
