Question about Canon Lenses

Postby Aerophile » Tue Feb 26, 2008 11:03 am

I have a 35mm Canon EOS Rebel GII film camera that I purchased a few years back.   It has a Canon Zoom Lens EF 35-80mm 1:4-5.6 lens on it.  I am contemplating purchasing a Canon XTi DSLR in the near future and was wondering if this lens would also work with the XTi.  I'm looking at purchasing the XTi body only and a Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III lens to get what I want and save a few bucks.

Thanks in advance!

AFAIK the Canon XTi/400D is compatible with all EF series lenses.

Any Canon EOS camera with a red dot on the lens mount can take EF lenses. Any Canon EOS camera with both a red dot and a white square on the lens mount can take both EF lenses and EF-S lenses.

Just my opinion, but I would like to have a wide angle lens, like the kit lens for general purpose.  But thats just me.  I suppose as a result I couldn't afford the telephoto

Dont put 'fourthirds' lenses on a normal film camera... those are for digital ones

That doesn't apply to Canon lenses.
