Saturday at the local

Postby Hagar » Sun Feb 10, 2008 7:48 pm

What a glorious weekend! Here's selection from my usual spot at Shoreham on Saturday. A couple of unusual birds in there.

Gorgeous shots, Doug. Send some of that sunshine this way. Been cold, windy and snowy all weekend. :(

Thanks everyone.

Not always apparent in a photo but it's a common sight at Shoreham or anywhere a number of aerobatic types are based. It's the only practical way to land this type of aircraft. If you check the rudder the Stampe in #3 is also sideslipping although at a gentler angle. (The term 'forward slip' appears to be an American expression.)

The aircraft in number two looks like a mini Dornier 328 :D :D

It's a Partenavia P68B. We don't see many in this part of the world.

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!
