airventure 07-part 13- unusual homebuilts

They run the gamut at Oshkosh... here are some more "grass roots" types, evoking the original spirit of the EAA.

Not sure what this is, but it's funky. Love the net seat, and what appears to be an old tractor engine (or an old Ford "T"?)

This 1974 Chris-Tena has 1,000 hours on it, and apparently flew to Oshkosh from Maryland.

A classic fave: the Bowers Fly-Baby, done up here as an AAC trainer. Terrific little plane that almost anyone can build and maintain.

There's no way I'd fly in any of those. Except perhaps the Fly-Baby!  :D
