More clouds... a sore sight for pilots!

Postby Omag 2.0 » Sat Jun 16, 2007 3:57 am

On the back of my house, cloudformations and the setting sun provided quite the show... a bright sundog appeared in the cirrusclouds...

In the front of my house, a whole different story... this peculiar lookin beasty floated by... it had countles of streaky bits going up... it just kept evolving and evolving...

Image

To finnaly form mammatus-clouds! Now that I've never seen before... The hanging lobs of this cloudform are visible in the middle, slightly to the left. They are connected to severe storms... glad this one just passed by, without causing trouble...

Image

Pilots are urged to stay away from these clouds... The sure look scary and beautifull at once...

Cheers,

Omag

Whoa! Thanks for that informative list Doug! I'm just beginning to learn about clouds and their different forms... It's amazing up there!  ;)

Very nice for looking at, but not so nice if they pas over you.
We've had 7 or 8 major thunderstorms over the last week.

The roof of the Ford factory I live nearby collapsed because it couldn't hold all the water.

Very nice series Omag. Great shots.

Frank.
