Ok. I would say it's a bit overexposed judging by how pale the sky is. The colour balance looks a little off as the Harrier appears a little too 'red'. However the shot itself seems relatively sharp.

I'd say it looks exactly like an RAF Harrier ;D

I hope you don't mind, I gave it a few small tweaks in PS. :) Can't do too much to do an already edited shot of course, but my best effort.

I agree with Steve about the image being a tad washed out by overexposure, but there is lots of detail which can be dug out of your image too........the dark shadows can be lightened to bring forward the underside and show more..........this isn't nit-picking, but my attempt here is only to be constructive....... 8-)

........if you take what you started with in the camera, and manipulate it just a little, you'll see that there is more latent image to show off a fine shot (selected brightness and contrast, minor level shift, a touch of saturation for the sky area, and a pinch of sharpening overall).......the nose down angle indicates to me that the transition from hover to forward flight has just started and the slight angle from full vertical to backwards on the thrust ducts also indicates the same thing......nice timing on this shot.........

cheers rifleman!!

couple of questions though, at the moment all i use is Irfanview and/or Picasa to edit or change a picture in any way so using those is there any way to select certain areas, like that of the underside of the wings where there is shadow. I am able to do some minor things like sharpening and saturation but only to the whole shot. Yet most of the time i tend to leave it the way it is most of the time.

and normally i just resize first and then do whatever touches i do do to it.

cheers for all these hints Rifleman!!
