Chrislea Super Ace & Skyjeep

Postby Hagar » Thu May 24, 2007 4:39 am

Not many Chrislea aircraft were built, a total of 3 Skyjeep taildraggers & 18 Super Ace with a nosewheel. The fact that three airworthy examples of this unusual marque survive is remarkable. You'd be lucky to see one, never mind all 3 on the same field. Hullavington on Sunday was the first time these aircraft have been seen together for a very long time, if they ever have. This was a rare sight indeed. First time I've seen the Skyjeep.

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

It's not exactly a good-looking airplane, but... there's something about it. ;D

Indeed. I find it fascinating. I prefer the Skyjeep.

Great shots, Doug!! :)

It looks like they took the designs from a variety of aircraft to make this!!

The upper wing with two verticals is just a little wierd looking.

So do I... looks a little more dignified without that nosewheel. Reminds me of the difference between the Pacer and the Tri-Pacer. ;D
