I went for a little trip to the French coast today... I drove 150 km to the Opal coast to visit the famous cliffs overthere.

These cliffs are the oposite of the white cliffs of Dover. They look the same, but are on the French side of the Channel...

This may look familiar to the British members...

These guys however, came for the wind! And there was plenty of that! Two Dutch guys amused themselves with RC glidingplanes. I never saw those before, but the Dutchies sure knew how to use them!

Funny sight, when you think about it... so many yeasr ago, the battle of Brittain took place here. At this point the French coast is at it's closest to the English one... hundreds of fighters and bombers must have flown over these cliffs...

The war left other marks too... the site is covered with bunkers...

And if you look closely, that vague white line at the horizon? That's the UK!

Next stop... Cap Gris Nez...

Fantastic stuff Kris.....Slope soaring is one of the most exciting forms of R/C flying that you can do..........it's a sure way to get your heart beating if the wind is marginal.........nobody wants to make the trip to the bottom but sometimes it has to be done........ :-[

Very pleasant scenery for the inland folks........thanks for the look at the other side of the world........ 8-)
