I feel like a party-pooper, but I wonder about that grownup-sized restraint system...it looks like she's strapped in OK, but...
I'm all for taking little ones for rides, but I think a car seat or something is a good idea, although that might not work in a machine like that.

Must admit I felt a little uneasy myself. Even the most well-behaved children of that age can be unpredictable. However, I suspect she's been flying with her Dad for quite a while now & it would be no different to her than riding in the family car. I've had a good look at the full-sized photos including a close-up which I didn't post here for obvious reasons. It looks very much like a special child-sized harness is fitted on the right-hand seat.

Thanks Paul. A grand day out indeed but this is nothing. Wait till next Bank Holiday weekend. International Microlight Exhibition - Popham Airfield 5th & 6th May. http://www.popham-airfield.co.uk/Events.htm

Last year we had over 500 visiting light aircraft & microlights parked on that small airfield on the Saturday alone. Some had to be turned away at one point. If you want a nice day out jump on your bike & come down. Bikers are welcome at Popham.

Kids can be unpredictable, but I assume as you do that she's cognizant of the danger, etc...  I was more concerned about her safety if something went wrong.  Even in the family car, small children come to grief when they pop out of or are injured by adult-sized belts in even minor accidents.
But I'm not surprised they've made sure the restraint is suitable for a young 'un.

What a lucky little brat...wish I'd got to do things like that when I was that age. But at least I got a couple of rides in a family friend's XKE when I was not much older than she is... lap belt only- LOL...
