Help!

Postby Anark » Wed Apr 11, 2007 12:30 pm

I have a load of shots from Duxford, problem is, they are too damn big.

Example: this one I took on the way down.
Reduced too 490 px wide yet only just under 100kb  :(

Rather than shrink them... compress them when you save them as a .jpg

When I resize and export a photo I can alter the quality e.g to 98%... and it will tell me how mank KB it will be... so I just use that and keep the 800x600 dimensions...

Looky here...

Can you tell which one is your image?

Well theres one big difference.. and thats 80KB!

It is sad, but it's something different to look at. For every kid who's grown up around that hulk and tagged or damaged it, there's probably another who's looked at it with respect and wonder.

Okay, maybe for every ten kids who've vandalized it... ::)

What is it doing there? Is that a junkyard?

Looks like somebody forgot to clean up the mess of an aircraft crash. So the kids got to it. It should really be taken and put in an aircraft museum or something.  :)

Looks like in its a scrap yard or used car lot - such a shame to see it like that :'(

At least the one at Castle Motors in Cornwall still looks respectable :)

There's dozens more of those in museums all around the world. So why does one matter?

Plus, it's way better than most things considered "modern art".

That is not a work of art, it is an classic aircraft that has been desecrated by vandals. No aircraft deserves to ends it's life being painted on and vandalised in a field by chavs whether there is one left or one hundred.

And even if it wasn't intended as art, I still think it delivers a nice artistic message.
