Panzermuseum Munster (II)

On we go...

Post-WW2.
Nice Centurion.
Image

Surprise, surprise! They had a Merkava MkI among the modern tanks. A fine piece of armor designed as a tank/APC hybrid.
Image

No tank thread without a Leopard. :)
This is a 2A4 formerly serving with Panzerbatallion 334 in Celle (closed 2005).
Note the two kinds of ammo. Left HE (high explosive -> "weak" targets), right KE (kinetic energy -> "hard" targets)
Image

Some more modern armor. An engineer tank, a M47 and some kind of heavily armed expermiental tank hunter.
Image

T-55.
Image

One for Kevin (I hope!)..a M-60.

Bottom line: Tanks > aircraft. :D

In Hungary we drive T-55s around Budapest (after stealing them) to protest at the PM 8-)

Damn you- I was gonna say that!! (shakes fist like Colonel Klink)..."Wiillliiiitt...."
:D

Love that M60, and that early tank Wotan is very interesting.  Everything in between was interesting, too, but let's not get carried away with this "better than aircraft" stuff.

After all, there have always been tank-buster aircraft, but no aircraft-buster tanks... ;)

I stand corrected (and sheepishly- I once built a model of that first one-LOL)... but as Willit said, I'd rather be the pilot in a confrontation between one of those and any good ground-attack aircraft... ;D

Hide your AA tanks well and any ground attack aircraft won't stand much of a chance.
