Air Fest 2007 - part 4: a trainer and a big 'un...

Had to check out this T-43: it's a navigation trainer, based on the 737.

The main difference is the engine package...

Nifty layout inside: several student's stations and plenty of seats for students and instructors.

A nice old-school flight deck: the crewman minding the office told me he felt flying the 43 was like driving a classic car, and I bet it is: this thing is simple, reliable, and stylish. He obviously enjoys his job... can't blame him.

Look- another one of those whirly-thingies... eh.
But hey, it's kinda cool:  a USMC trainer, the TH-57 Sea Ranger. And what is that thing in the distance...?

Great Googly-Moogly, the C-5 Galaxy is big...

This one's based at Dover- just a short hop for this beast.

Baby's hungry... for tons and tons of cargo, vehicles or troops.

Another huge crowd: I made three passes through the deck until I finally decided to get on the line for the ladder. the key problem is that the one ladder to the crew deck was the only entrance and exit... made for slow going. That and countless 4-year-olds who could barely make it down the ladder... doggone rug rats. ::)

A view of the wing thru a side hatch...

Waited almost an hour for my chance to go up the ladder... sadly, none of the shots of the flight deck or the crew quarters and passenger seating area came out very well (it was dark, and I think I got something on the lens). But I did get the nod to sit in the left seat... lots of elbow room in this puppy. ;D

Next: classic pistons on the ramp!
