At my school in Nebraska, we decided to build an electrathon vehicle, that is, one that runs only on batteries. Right as of now, we just need to get our electrical system hooked up, and the plastic body put on.

What is the chassis made of?  Does not look like aluminum or chrome moly because it does not look like it was mig or tig welded but, just arc welded.

Pretty heavy frame there- I'm sure it's not meant to break any speed records.

Very interesting, though... what kind of batteries will it use?

The frame is made of tubular steel. We would've used lighter materials, but were only allowed to spend 2500$ on the car.

As for the batteries, we can have up to 67lbs of lead-acid batteries.
