Been there, ....done that......twice......same car each time, and both times the insurance wrote off the car......an '88 Pontiac 6000 Wagon.

....on my second one, it was very similar to yours, ....came from the left side and antlers came through the passenger side of the windshield........although, I did get 200 lbs of meat from one side of the animal.....couldn't used the other side....butcher said it was already "grilled" ......

Corny line, but true story, nontheless........

Cars can be fixed and all you ask is that the people are ok and the deer is dead so he can't do it to anyone else....... ;)

Thats why I love my truck.  Hit 6 deer with it while going anywhere from 40-55 mph and have yet to have to much noticable damage if any.  Then humiliate it even more and load it up to butcher then eat at a later date ;D  10 deer total in 2 years, 9 ended up in the table...Think it was deer #3 that did win though, 65 mph on a wet road, plowed a big buck, went sideways into the ditch and into a poll...dont remember much after that.   Furry B@stards >:(

It's inevitable now that we've killed off all their predators and built-up most of their habitat... ::)

Used to live in deer country; foggy twisting roads. Had as many close calls with cyclists and pedestrians along those roads... ;D

Never hit either, because I know to slow down, keep an eye out, and use the horn (deer will respond to a horn- scares them).
The other key thing to remember is that they do not travel alone. If one crosses in front of you, get ready- there will be another one.

Ouch.  I once found a bird jammed between my bumper and my grill.  I don't know how long it was there.  That's about it for me though, so far...:P

I think you deserve an award for that.

One less hood a cyclist could end up on. Kudos!
