Slightly more of note though has to be the nose of FM213(?) on the left side of the first picture... :)

It's more likely FM104

I was clutching at straws. I knew it was FM something or other (the one from Toronto waterfront...)

.. I saw a movie years ago about the Arrow and it's demise. In the end of the movie it said that one of the prototypes was missing and might still exist... Is there really such a legend?

well, that's a maple-syrup-flavoured conspiracy theory...however most, if not all, Arrow-heads argue that there isnt an arrow hidden up in the artic. i dont know.

if you come to almost any canadian aero-space museum you're bound to find some artifact that had something to do with the arrow.

I need to make an effort to visit there on my next trip east......I used to live around the corner from the museum as I grew up .........I believe the place the Museum resides in now is called Downsview Park....It used to be an active base when I moved into the area back in the late 50's .....in those days it was quite common to see Boxcars and Expediters before the big push by DeHavilland went to produce the Buffalo and Twin Otters.....flew in and out of there in the mid 60's in a couple of Yukons.......this is my area of Toronto !

yeah, theres not much left of that era...the museum and a few buildings and thats it...the neighbours want it closed and boeing bolted a couple of years ago, or so i heard. when i went i drove around the airport area nd i saw no planes whatsoever, nothing at all but the lights on the runway were on, so im confused. is it closed or is it dead?

must've been cool to have grown up there during those years! :o

The last I heard was that after Boeing left and Bombardier moved in, there was only one runway active for the testing of the old DeHavilland facility a/c.....its been 5 yrs since I was a local there but as recently as that, there were flight tests still being carried out......I was working just east of Keele St at York U - straight through the east gate as a matter of fact, and was in line with the only flight path they used....... 8-)
