Belgian airforce defil

21/07/06 - Belgium's national holiday... and yearly showing of the armed forces... Some snaps of the flying stuff that came over my house:

The seaking formation... unlike yesterday they flew over the left side over my house, so I was shooting into the sun... darn!



The allouettes followed...



With a Dutch collegue... a Lynx joined the formation...



The Marchetti's looked splendid as ever!



Another surprise! 4 Embraer Xingu's from the French Airforce!



The C-130, as smokey as always...



A Falcon 900 ( flew in formation with a Falcon 20, which choose to go on the left again... grrr)



The Fouga's! I'll miss these planes!



Bye guys! Guess we'll never see you flying again...



There come the Alphajets... to many of them at once! I'm surrounded!



And then thunder and lightning... 26 F-16's!







It was a blast to watch....

There was another group of Alpha's before those, but my shot is blurred...

Sadly enough, the promised ERJ, A300 and Dutch KC-10 didn't participate due to the fact they are active in the evacuation of people from Lebanon...

Lovely shots! Those F-16s must have made on hell of a noise!

In the future you can come and visit the Historic Jet Association at Lelystad as they will have 4 Magisters flying around, all in Belgian colors I think

Babbelfish translates it as procession... It's a yearly showing of the troops to the Belgian King...  The different troops, rolling gear, aircraft, etc. parade along an avenue in Brussels, where they greet the King. ( The planes do fly off-course...)

Are included: Groundtroops, tanks, jeeps, trucks, police, safety-personel, cadettes, the marines, ...

I don't know the exact word for this in English.
