The sky was going through some ch-ch-ch-changes as the solid deck at 2000 broke up... probably not the best day for bug-smashing, although it was pretty.
Made a brief stop at an overlook en route; view was overgrown, but I did watch some turkey vultures enjoying some fantastic ridge lift...
Finally, we made our turn north just before the bridge at Dingman's Ferry... Peg remembered where we were, and started getting excited.
Been a while since I've gone out this way, and I had some trouble remembering where my "secret" spot was... wasted quite a bit of time driving along the last road before the river... and of course I hadn't topped off the tank.
Soon I had to just keep going north to the nearest gas station... the tension of the moment kinda spoiled the lovely scenery along this road. And of course, I didn't see the road I was looking for on the way... that barn looks familiar, but... :P
I was on fumes when I went through (? can't remember the name of this little town) and saw these classics, so only time for a quick "blind" snap as I coasted along, certain I'd be stuck any second. I actually made it another 5 miles and rolled into the "Gas-a-rama" on a wing and a prayer.
Next: a lovely evening at the Gap
