The Big Bird!

Postby Sir_Jon » Sat Jul 22, 2006 2:15 pm

Hi all,
Just got back from a very rainy Farnborough, and the que to get through the town to the airfield were terrible. Just as we got into the car park, the A-340 finished its display and I missed getting any airbourne shots of it and its bigger brother, and what a display it was considering the size of the aircraft. However, I did manage a few shots of it on the ground. Sorry about the rubbish quality, the weather was very overcast and it was my first go at this :P. The wierd sizes are me trying to crop people out of the photo's.

Well done considering the conditions. Shame about the weather. Hope you enjoyed it anyway.

When I saw it in the air doing its display, its amazing to think something that big could get off the ground, let alone do what it was doing. And those engines :o they are massive!

Edit: Thanks Hagar, it was a nice day, the MiG 29 OVT was the highlight in my opinion, and you get used to the rain at public events in Britain eh ;D

Just got back from Farnborough also! Shame about the thunderstorm :-[

When the A380 Taxied out the right wing went right over my head. Considering the huge distance between the barriers and the plane that is quite a wingspan :o :o

I was to the right of the ac, on the corner between the taxiway barrier and the crowdline barrier, on the far left of no.3. i moved to crowd centre after the rain though

LOTS of pictures to come in a few minutes when I've put them all on the PC!
