Wellesbourne - Final Few

Postby 61_OTU » Tue Jul 04, 2006 7:07 pm

Here are just a few last images from the Wellesbourne Thunder Run day

Loads of GA were going up and down during the day, we even had one aborted takeoff when the engine coughed at about 120 ft  :o :o :o

Taxi!!!.......I've another shot of this one, the guy appears to be sitting in the back seat, he's miles back from the nose ???

Local Air Ambulance came in to stir up the dust a little

Mr Teichmann was supposed to be part of the static display, and suddenly he rolled out of the airfield (not where the display was) and took off and away, pity, but at least I got to see his lovely P40 take off, even if I did completely fail to get a decent close up shot, these were the best I got...... :(

Thanks for looking, and I can highly recommend it to anyone who is near enough, it's a really low key day, plenty of people but not crowded, and some really unique sights  ;)

The J-3 Cub is always flown from the rear seat unless there is a passenger ;)

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

It looked like the guy in the back was the passenger of the invisible man  ;D ;)

I'm sure I read somewhere that the Teichmann P-40 was going to be re-painted as an RAF machine. More nice shots, looks like it was a good day out.

Nice shots!

Isn't that Air Ambulance 'Heli' an Agusta Power by any chance?

I've always thought that was a very cool name for an aircraft   8)
