Omag at EBKT

Yep, another airfield to visit! I had to be near Wevelgem today, so I took a quick turn towards the airfield there... I knew it was a regional airport with mainly GA-birds, but I didn't know exactly what to expect. The airport itself is just a rectangular field with a runway and a fence... So please, forgive me for the grates... just some quick shots!

A beech 200 Super King Air! Cool!

Image

Getting even better... a Cessna 560 XL Citation Excel

Image

Another King Air and Cessna Citation on the other side!

Image

And on the other side of the runway, the road leads to an industrial area... where the road actually serves as ... a taxiway! Meaning the planes are visible without a fence in front of their hangars! There I made a boydream (*) come true! To ever stand close to that plane from "The Flying Doctors"! And there's one parked right there! i took this shot from my car, standing on the side of the road!

Image

Now I need to do some research on when it's best to return and where to be, but I like this place!!!

(*): mind you... I was a young boy back then... ;D

Omag

ps: I didn't bother to denoise the shots, as they are a bit crappy... it was just a quicky! ;D

Great shots!! :)

I would hate to see what rush hour is like there.

Honey, the car is running a little hot.  That's O.K. the King Air in front of us will cool it down!! ;D

Rush-hour? It's a dead-end street... although, when there are several spotters, it could get crowdy...  ;D

Har dee har har... don't quit your day job, kid...
I figured "Nomad" was the model; it was the manufacturer I was wondering about.
It figures that it's GAF, the most bland name ever... ;D
