The other Lanc

Postby Hagar » Mon Jun 05, 2006 5:36 am

Thought I'd post these after seeing James' photos of the CWH Lancaster. This is the BBMF Lanc, the only other airworthy example in the world. We finally got to see her display at Old Warden yesterday after the old girl was plagued with undercarriage problem over the last two weekends.

Impressive looking engines! Not the sleakest design, but still a formidable plane!

Great shots Doug!

Close topsides at a public event, of the Lancaster, from the crowdline? :o Now thats a new one!

The special way the crowdline curves at Old Warden proves it's worth yet again! Top work there :)

Very nice...I have lens envy. ;D
And the Canadian one's camo is darker overall- every shot's like a silhouette.
Got some decent ground shots of it, though- it was parked right in front of me (and James, as you can see by his set) for startup and shutdown.
And I got to go inside... ;D

I'm so glad they got the problems with the Lanc sorted out, sounded quite nasty but looks like they did a good job of fixing it up.
Amazing pics again Doug.
