Surprise!

Postby flyboy 28 » Sun Mar 26, 2006 12:50 pm

..my dad took me out to Van Sant airport today in Pennsylvania. Beautiful facility. I asked the lady at the desk (Mrs. Van Sant) if I could just poke around the hangar and take a look. She said sure.

So I open the door and there it is..

Woah! This was great; I've never seen a Chippie before, and they are neat. :) This looked rather old.. not quite sure if it's airworthy, but it dosen't matter. The sheer fact that its sitting in a hangar so close to me is amazing. :P

I have other shots, ask if you want them. Sorry for the quality; taken with my phone.

Nice one James. You will have to chat someone up for a trip in that. ;)

Chipmunks are lovely aircraft. One of few light aircraft I'll always photograph when I see one (I even have a shot of one a balloon popping sortie!) :)

Don't know for sure, but I think I've seen that one airborne in my neck of the woods (not too many Chippies around here).
VanSant looks like a nice place to visit: haven't landed there yet, but I flew over it yesterday.
