Some old friends of mine were playing at a local pub
recently and I got to sit in for a few songs!
What a blast! I really do miss playing but at least
I still know some people in "The Biz"  ;)

The song we were playing when the shots were taken was Led Zep's " Heartbreaker".
The band was mostly playing Rock n Blues type stuff.

The olden days was progressive rock!  ;D

What kind of progressive rock?...I love Pink Floyd, Yes, Camel, Aphrodites Child, Wishbone Ash, King Crimson and stuff

It was a mix between Rush, U2 and Metallica.
Not thrashy rock but a bit driving yet melodic.
We got one of our originals onto a label here in America called "Metal blade Records". They did a compilation of 12 best "unsigned" bands in America and we were one!

My guitarist and bass player eventually went on to create the band called Big Wreck.

Ah, yes. I miss the days of playing with my old blues/rock band. Of course, I like the nice paycheck I have now and don't have the time/energy to service all the women that being a musician attracts, so I suppose it balances out.

haha i like ur old kit man, haha we need a drumer like you!!! can u still do double kick? we cover Children of Bodom, Craddle, Archenemy, Stratovarius and Nightwish...we also do our own stuff...hahaha

question...that big wreck u talk about...did they end up playing with Ian Thornley? the guy tat later one broke away from the band and put up his own show as Thornley, and cranked out 'beautyful' and 'come again' last summer? if so...they were kinda big around my neck of the woods (Thornly's band) last summer, and i think they will be this summer as well...they come to London Ontario all the time. i dont like their stuff that much tho, ahaha

you should teach your kids the joys of playing an instrument...dont be a boring dad.

That would be the one and only Ian! After the 2nd album came out, "The Pleasure and The Greed", they toured for a year. From what Brian, the guitarist told me, Ian was a hard guy to work with! You know the big ego type. As with so many great bands, egos got in the way and the band split up!
Brian now lives in Ontario, got married and opened up his own guitar teaching studio.

Ian as you know, went on to create his other band. Never got Thornley's album but heard a song or two.

I can laugh, bescause when I was in high school, I often played shirtless, with fringed arm bands (no pictures, sorry!! )...:-/

That old Tama kit is wicked cool, but those dw's are fantastic-sounding drums.
